In the Department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs, the art of the nineteenth century is represented in all its continuity and disparity, from Classicism to Romanticism to Realism, followed by the harbingers of Classical Modern Art such as Vincent van Gogh. The area of nineteenth-century prints features such specialized holdings as the Strähuber Collection, a unique group of early lithographs, and more than thousand of Honoré Daumier´s lithographs. The new focus on the collection of nineteenth-century French drawings, prints of the period around 1900 and bibliophilic book art lends these holdings international distinction.
